The Rivers and Water Supply Commission have developed four products for the purchase of Irrigation Rights before 30th June 2007 in readiness for the completion of the Meander Dam scheduled for November 2007.
The four products have been developed in consultation with Agricultural Consultants to specifically fit with Irrigator´s financial plans and are as follows:
- Up-Front Payment in Full
- Payment by Instalments
- Fixed Repayment Loan
- Deferred Purchase
For purchases before the 30th June 2007 the Commission has determined the Irrigation Rights value as $1,000 per megalitre as at 30th June 2007 with a discount rate of 8%pa to apply to all advance purchases. All offers to purchase Irrigation Rights must be in no less than 10ML lots. Irrigation right products offered following completion of the Meander Dam will be structured on a base price of $1,100/ML and will be indexed in line with CPI and the associated costs.
